PBT partners with Central Group to Power a Greener Future

At PBT, sustainability is a responsibility we’re committed to actioning across every part of our network. We’re focused on reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver smarter, safer, and more efficient freight solutions for our customers.

One of our most significant steps this year has been the full conversion of our forklift fleet from diesel to electric—achieved in partnership with Central Group and their trusted Heli Electric Forklifts. The switch was completed in March 2025 and is already making a measurable impact, cutting over 1,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, which represents around 3% of PBT’s total emissions footprint.

Working alongside Central Group, we’ve been able to implement a fleet solution that’s not only more sustainable but also safer and more efficient.

The introduction of Heli Electric Forklifts has delivered several benefits:

·         Environmental performance: Zero-emission forklifts with lower operational energy use

·         Health and safety improvements: Reduced noise and air pollution in high-traffic warehouse and depot environments

·         Operational efficiency: Enhanced handling, longer runtime, and consistent performance across all sites
